What is Sex?

What is sex? Have you ever thought about it? I mean, beyond “10 Sex Tips to Change Your Life”. Is it really just about squirting orgasms. fucking machines, and beautiful looking people rolled in oil having some kind of scene with fire shooting out of their ears? Maybe. Or can the hottest sex be something so extraordinarily subtle that sometimes, it could not even be recognized as sex at all by people who have never been shown the shades of possibility in our sexual spectrum. Sometimes, like all things we need to be taught to listen enough to really feel and open to the sexual spectrum.

I am talking about staying with what is possible in our sexuality. Entertain that we sometimes even run away from the sexuality in our lives because it is uncomfortable. Or too intimate. Some sex workers have a boundary around kissing. Genitals touching Genitals touching feels safe. But lips touching lips do not.

Where are all the words to describe not the acts of sex but the feelings that come with each type of erotic interaction. I invite you to listen and see with a different eye to sexuality and take in what is there for you.You might be having way more sex than you know. Warm Sex. God Sex. Agape Sex. Animal Sex. Languid Sex. Yearning Sex. Fingers on skin. Slow. Fingernails tracing. Breath on a neck. Rituals. Undressing your lover one button at a time. Sex can be a word placed perfectly some where in your life or your lovers life. Sex can be listening. Eyes holding Eyes. Sex can be the act of coffee placed in the hands of your lover as they open their eyes. Sex. Where is it in your lives outside of genitals touching genitals. Look. Listen. Stay with it. All the feelings that may feel comfortable and uncomfortable if we actually recognize them as being a part of erotic experience as humans.
Feel into the moments that send just a little quiver up your spine. Sigh.

So what do you think of that? Anyone?

Loving you from here,
Pamela Madsen
